We’ll send out student schedules in the first week of June. Feel free to ask us questions about your student’s schedule or ask for adjustments if needed.
Email email@example.com and share your questions/concerns. If your question(s) are difficult to answer via email, we’ll schedule an advisory meeting.
Read through the course descriptions with your student and select 3 classes of interest. Students can still watch the live streams for other courses, but we don’t recommend a heavy workload for summer unless there is a compelling reason. Courses taken for credit usually include reading and written assignments. Students may only take more than 3 classes for credit with the permission of the Head of School.
Yes, there are two scheduled parent-teacher conferences at the beginning and end of the academic term. Parents have the option of requesting additional conferences throughout the term.
All students will receive an end of term report card. Additionally, we'll provide course outlines and proof of work. Each school has a different policy on accepting outside credit, but Dexter credits have the potential to accelerate a student through a specific subject.
We recommend applicants to be 10 years or older, but do accept applications from gifted younger students. You're welcome to apply, but will have to complete entire application process and go through diagnostic testing.
No, all full-time students have access to the Dexter Live platform while they're enrolled in an academic term.
Yes, please contact us for more information about sibling discounts.
The Dexter application process is comprised of four stages:
There is a 20:1 ratio between learning coaches and students.
Absolutely! Dexter is a blended learning school that allows students to be completely remote, in-person or a combination of both.
Dexter meets all state requirements as a private school and is currently in the Readiness Review period of the accreditation process with Cognia. Cognia is recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. This agency accredits over 36,000 public and private educational institutions.
We currently accept applications from ages 10 to 14 (we limit older students so you'll have enough time to complete our high school graduation requirements).
Our long term vision is to create a global network of campuses that provides students regular access to empowering equipment, mentors, and events. Our first campus is located in Wichita Falls, TX. We will be opening our next campus in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2021.
